Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting physical examinations and developmental assessments for pediatric patients.
  • Diagnosing and treating common childhood illnesses and injuries.
  • Administering vaccinations and providing immunization counseling.
  • Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Educating patients and their families about preventive healthcare practices and disease management.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as blood work and imaging studies.
  • Providing counseling and support for pediatric patients and their families regarding health concerns and lifestyle modifications.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities to enhance clinical practice and patient care.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing with specialization as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority.
  • Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) from a nationally recognized certifying body (e.g., PNCB, ANCC).
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to formulate differential diagnoses and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and collaborate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer literacy.
  • Commitment to providing culturally competent, patient-centered care and promoting health equity for diverse populations.
