Behavioral Health Program Leadership Responsibilities
- Provide overall clinical and administrative leadership for a multi-disciplinary behavioral health service line.
- Meet regularly with operations teams to review and resolve program issues.
- Oversee provider staffing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and access to care.
- Lead regular meetings with program physicians and advanced practice providers.
- Partner with clinic management on quality, productivity, and service excellence.
- Participate in budget planning and resource allocation for the program.
- Drive strategic planning, including visit growth, marketing, revenue development, and cost control.
- Provide physician leadership in staff performance reviews, physician evaluations, and disciplinary processes.
- Support billing compliance, coding education, and revenue cycle improvement.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and learning-focused environment for all behavioral health providers.
- Lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance training.
Psychiatry Residency Program Leadership Responsibilities
- Serve as Program Director for a newly launched psychiatry residency, guiding its growth and accreditation.
- Oversee faculty recruitment, development, assignments, and performance.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain high-caliber residents committed to patient care, education, research, and professionalism.
- Ensure all residents receive appropriate advising, feedback, and support for successful completion of ABPN certification requirements.
- Lead the program in meeting and maintaining ACGME accreditation standards.
- Develop and oversee curriculum, rotation schedules, and clinical training sites.
- Liaise with academic affiliates to coordinate medical student and resident education.
- Monitor compliance with accrediting bodies (ACGME, Joint Commission, state boards, liability carriers).
- Provide direct clinical care, serving as a role model and preceptor for residents.
- Participate actively in didactic teaching, case conferences, and scholarly activity.
- Support continuous improvement in in-service exam scores and board pass rates.
- Contribute to research, faculty development, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage in institutional committees and professional organizations to advance the program’s visibility and growth.
Qualifications
- MD or DO with Board Certification in Psychiatry.
- Eligible for California medical license.
- At least 3 years of clinical practice post-residency.
- Prior leadership in graduate medical education (Residency Program Director, Associate Program Director, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated commitment to academic psychiatry, teaching, and clinical leadership.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and mentoring skills.
