The University of California, Riverside (UCR) is a world-class research university with an exceptionally diverse undergraduate student body. The UCR Department of Family Medicine seeks full-time board-certified family physicians with a full and unrestricted California medical license to join a team of committed faculty who provide ambulatory and inpatient services within Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Responsibilities of this position include clinical care, teaching medical students and residents as well as engaging in community-based participatory research, public service, quality initiatives and service to the University. Time will be provided to pursue scholarly activities and ensure academic promotion.

 

The successful applicant must qualify for an academic appointment in Professor of Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant, Associate, or Full professor rank. Academic rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience with advancement through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input.

 

Basic qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree

Hold a full and unrestricted license from the Medical Board of California

Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine or American Board of Osteopathic Medicine

Qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and at UCR affiliated health settings

 

Additional qualifications

Demonstrated experience in teaching residents and medical students

The posted UC salary scales (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/index.html) set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 for the salary range. The Base Salary range for this position is $127,000 - $333,700. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://somacademicaffairs.ucr.edu/sites/g/files/rcwecm2346/files/2021-02/2021-02-11HSCP%20Plan.pdf), which provides eligibility for additional compensation.
